Consume Animation

As I see our era of today I am frustrated over our values and what has an importance in our life. We eat, drink, shit and shop. But rarely stop and think over how much do we need? Where did it come from? Who made my food? How much do I pollute as one individual? Who decides my freedom and borders?
I wanted to show how we take over nature, and suck it dry, especially in our western world. But also to include the nature as it takes the world back.
This animation is hand drawn on wall with coal in a period of a month in studio 53. Even thou the animation is 3:22minutes it is over hundreds of hours work in it. It is both political and focused at illustration at the same time. To make each frame fit together I needed to follow my imagination at times to transform the wanted illustration in a good way.
I see the animation as a way to inform people, it has humour, as a tool to take up the attention of the individual, but hopefully after watching it some will find it thoughtful in some ways and actually see the symbols in the film, and take them into consideration. What are we doing to our planet?

Holga

Since Kingston university don't really have a lot of studio space, limited access and fun things to do because of health and safety and not many courses at the fine art section, I have mostly been working at 1st floor at photography. Its free to develop and scan you´re own photos, and it is fun :)
Analog photography is what I do most, especially 120" Holga. It is bad quality plastic camera i absolutely love. This is some random holga photos from the last year;
